The fast-rising alt-R&B artist, Frex, shares her new single, “Postcards,” out now via Uptown Records/Republic Records. The track is a beautiful, intimate diaristic entry about reminiscing over a negative situation while deciding whether or not to move on or give up hope that it’ll get better.
The new single follows in the footsteps of the previous viral hit, “Oxford Circus,” which debuted in the Spotify Viral Top 50, with also recently releasing a smooth single, “Hoodie Back,“ in mid-August.
Frex (stylized in all lowercase) is a “self-proclaimed misfit” who never felt like she belonged. The alt-R&B queen utilizes fashion and her artistry to create her future, and carve out her own path; a journey she felt like she had to repress during her time at Catholic school.
First inspired to make music at a time when no one else heard her, frex’s artistry encourages vulnerability and openness through the stark honesty in her songwriting to help others who are going through the same thing.
For those who are familiar with her, she’s known for her exceptional melodies in her songs, she is definitely a force to be reckoned with and an artist to watch. She attended school in Philadelphia and from there was influenced by R&B, jazz, and pop.
Stay tuned to frex to see what other projects she’s working on in the near future!
