The duo of Olivia Osby and Avsha Weinberg share their new EP, Skin of My Teeth, a four-track EP, out today via Dirty Hit.
The EP opens with the raw, glitchy track, “Bline,” where Osby sings about the insecurities of the band leaving their home in Atlanta during a time split between London and New York. The track delivers haunting vocals and bass throughout the 3:29 journey.
“Moving to the city at a young age and not having college as a social outlet was extremely difficult for me as a socially anxious and introverted person,” shares Olivia.
“Root Canal” is more approachable and upbeat with jangly guitars and a catchy melody. The track, however, is sneaky with its sweetness disguised as darkness with Olivia singing lines like “I wanna see you fail” and “You made me swallow rocks and broken glasses..”
On “Obscurity,” the track opens with a deep guitar and Osby’s raw vocals as she croons. Lowertown’s compositions are filled with lo-fi, soft-spoken lyricism.
Osby delivers raw and passionate vocals throughout the entire EP resulting in an incredible piece of art.
