Aussie-born, Swedish-based singer/songwriter Hazlett shares new ep, goodbye to the Valley Low

,

Hazlett is a singer/songwriter from Australia who recently returned from a wildly successful tour with Wild Rivers and Josiah & The Bonnevilles.

He returns from his 2023 album,  Bloom Mountain, with his new EP, Goodbye To The Valley Low, a stunning six-song EP, a raw form of indie-folk filled with personal situations and showcasing his stunning introspective songwriting that has quickly won over fans from across the world. His songs sound like they come from a page in his journal.

His recently released EP, Goodbye to the Valley Low, was released in December 2023 and can be compared to Iron & Wine, Bon Iver, and more, Hazlett’s songs are soulful and heartfelt.

Produced by long-time collaborator Freddy Alexander, the EP was created in an off-grid cabin on the west coast of Sweden. The EP shows Hazlett returning to his roots to a more stripped-back, rawer sound.

The six-song collection opens with the beautiful “Blame The Moon,” a beautiful reflection of plans that were never fulfilled, while the acoustic-driven track, “Missionary Feelings,” reflects upon emotions of dissatisfaction and longing. Vulnerability takes center stage in “Mama’s Boy.”

The fourth track in the six-song collection is a beautiful selection in his already stellar catalog. The track is a gentle, serene song that blends raw guitars with Hazlett’s harmonizing vocals. On the track “Cemetery,” the track takes the listener back to Hazlett’s childhood; an exciting child whose future was filled with unimaginable dreams.

The focus track, “Stolen Season,” illustrates Hazlett’s atmospheric surroundings and follows his timeless tone, while he longs to find that emotion again.
