When we were first introduced to Los Angeles’ talker (Celeste Tauchar) from one of her newest music videos “Drag Your Feet,” I knew her new debut would be incredible. And not to disappoint, everything I’ve heard so far has been just as thrilling, emotionally pounding, and beautiful.

The 11-song set opens with the track, “In Memory Of My Feelings,” this song is a beauty from the beginning as she sings about not remembering who “she used to be” and not being able to “surrender.” She sings that, if the truth won’t set you free, just make it up as you go along. I love the energy in this song and it brings memories of old Paramore and Pvris.

The second song on the record is called “TWENTYSOMETHING.” It’s a high-energy, youthful track about being a young adult and dealing with adult changes in one’s life… She sings about the woes of being a mid-twenties individual, out of college, trying to become an adult, now off of your parent’s health insurance, and therapy is too expensive; the “beginning of the end,” Tauchar claims.

Tauchar has this gift of writing 80s-inspired, youthful infectious music that fits right in with today’s music scene; particularly within the pop/punk scene, and pop/emo with an alternative flair.

“Old Enough” is an excellent track that details the ins and outs of growing up and when we will grow up? “When will I be old enough to tell you how I can’t be everything you need”

She effortlessly details the emotions of feeling anxiety surrounding a relationship on “Easygoing,” as she sings, “I don’t know what I would do if you told me you were seeing someone new..” and she sings about how she wishes she was more “easy-going” and not as attached so quickly.

The songs so effortlessly fit together like a missing puzzle piece. Tauchar’s honeyed vocals are gentle, powerful, and controlled.

“Drag Your Feet” is another great example of an infectious, addicting pop-rocker. She effortlessly sings beautifully and infectiously on this track about learning to want the same things as your significant other. Between “In Memory of My Feelings,” “Old Enough,” and “Drag Your Feet,”

Tauchar writes beautiful lyricism paired with high-energy pop-rock numbers, allowing her listeners to understand where she is coming from.
